The lymph nodes removed from my left groin a week ago were all negative!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If any of the 11 nodes we removed showed signs of disease, my left side would need treatment too.  Lymph nodes on both sides of my pelvis would need to come out, and possibly&#8230; worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, I&#8217;m here to have another scan, in preparation for my operation next Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m hoping that operation is my last, and it will complete my staging.  It will tell us if anything has changed since December, and if the cancer has spread further into my body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Statistically, there\u2019s an 18% chance of spread&#8230; but it\u2019s just a death defying game of whack a mole really!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-but-it-s-a-lorry\">But, it&#8217;s a lorry?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>I make my way through physiotherapy, and into a carpark where a huge Canon scanning trailer waits.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My veins aren&#8217;t playing today.  The radiographer managed to burst three of my blood vessels getting a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.knob.blog\/penile-cancer-information\/needles-anaesthetics-cannulas-catheters-and-urine-retention\/\">cannula<\/a> into my arm, so that&#8217;s going to be covered in bruises later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/www.knob.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/scanner.jpg\" alt=\"Inside a mobile Canon CT scanning lorry.
